The Challenge
A large industrial site needed continuous environmental monitoring across 40 hectares to meet regulatory compliance requirements. Manual spot-checks were labour-intensive, infrequent, and producing incomplete records.
What We Built
We designed and deployed a 200-node LoRaWAN sensor network covering temperature, relative humidity, and PM2.5/PM10 particulate levels. Data flows into a cloud aggregation platform with:
- 15-minute resolution readings from every node
- Automated compliance reports generated monthly
- Anomaly detection alerting for exceedance events
- A web dashboard accessible to the site EHS team
The Outcome
- Regulatory reporting time reduced from 3 days per month to under 2 hours
- Two exceedance events detected and remediated before they became compliance issues
- Network has operated continuously for 18+ months with zero node failures requiring site visits
